Austin Discovery School is a free, public school of choice. Each year delivering excellent academic experiences for our unique student population costs much more than state funding provides. In the state of Texas, charter schools like ADS receive less funds than traditional public schools:

  • No local tax revenue

  • No state aid to cover costs of buildings and facilities

  • Approximately $1000 less per student from state funds per year

ADS relies upon charitable donations and fundraisers to bridge the funding gap and provide the resources necessary to give every student an extraordinary education. Everything above state and federal funding —everything that makes ADS so special—comes from community fundraising.

Ways to Support ADS

  • Donate to the Annual Fund

    Generous cash donations are greatly appreciated. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to our general fund to run the yearly operations of the school.

  • Attend our Events

    Buy tickets to ADS Fundraising Events! They are a fun way to join the community and meet people with a common passion for innovative education, and support the school and its programs!

  • Volunteer

    Lend your time and creative talents to classroom and/or whole school needs. The ADS PTO helps coordinate the parent volunteer efforts through Class Parents and a Volunteer Log, or you can serve on one of the Campus Parent Committees.

  • Become a Sponsor

  • Box Tops for Education

    Collect Box Tops for Education labels on General Mills products. Place the labels in the label collection box in the front office. Click here for more information.

  • Shop!

    There are many ways that retailers will contribute back to the school from your purchases with them. Read below for some simple ways to link your purchases to donations back to the school.

  • Amazon Smile

    Shop at Amazon.com and up to 10% of your purchase will be donated to ADS through Amazon's School Rewards Program. In order for your purchase to be credited to ADS, you must click here before shopping on Amazon.com, and our account will automatically be credited for your purchase.

  • Office Depot

    Earn 5% of your qualifying purchases for ADS, both in store and online. At time of purchase, provide the ADS Office Depot School ID-70217519. Cashiers have local school IDs at the cash register if you need them to look up the ADS's school ID.

  • Mighty Nest for Schools
