Hello! My name is Angela DeLaney and I am very excited to be teaching 3rd/4th grade ELA/ Social Studies this school year. I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in a small town called Luling, Texas (about 45 minutes south of Austin). I also grew up on my family farm! It has been in our family for five generations and is just outside of Shiner, Texas. After high school, I attended Baylor University and received my Bachelor of Social Work. I then attended the University of Texas at Austin and received my Master of Science in Social Work. I am currently a Licensed Master of Social Work and spent the first part of my career as a social worker. I later wanted a chance to work more closely with children, so I obtained my teaching certifications in Early Childhood -6th grade generalist education and Early Childhood-12th grade Special Education. I spent the last three years teaching high school special education in the greater Austin area. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, taking my dog, Eli, for hikes, trying new restaurants, upcycling antiques, golf of all kinds, and exploring the eccentricities of Central Texas. I am very excited to be joining the team at ADS and look forward to an amazing year together!
