I've been an educator in the Austin area since 1998, making this school year my 20th year in teaching. I have been fortunate to have been afforded opportunities to teach many different ages over the years including Montessori preschool, KUMON for elementary grades, kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade, seventh grade, and college students. I recently had the privilege of serving as the Director of Fine Arts at St. Michael's Episcopal Day School where my daughter attended preschool in the Reggio Emilia inspired environment.
I am originally from El Paso, Texas where I developed a passion for all things Latino, including the culture, language, food, and music. I moved to Austin to attend The University of Texas and have lived here ever since.
I have had the honor of directing and performing in several classical musical organizations in Austin including The Walnut Creek Choir, The Austin Civic Chorus, and The Austin Symphony. Next to education, music and art are my life long loves.
I married Ely Allington in 2012 and we have a beautiful four year old daughter together. As a family we enjoy reading story books together, playing in the park, exploring in nature, cooking creative dishes, and taking in live music now and again.
I am BEYOND excited to serve in the Austin Discovery School Community alongside such excellent and child centered educators and enthusiastic and aware parents and families!
