I grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, a small city in the Appalachian Mountains. It's beautiful, and I always look forward to visiting my family there during the summer! After graduating from Columbia University in New York City, I taught in public, private, and charter schools in New York City and Charlotte, North Carolina.
In 2008, I moved to Austin to take a job at Austin Discovery School. Since then, I've taught grades three through six and feel so lucky to have spent the last six years with such amazing families, students, and co-workers.
When I'm not at school, you can find me reading, writing, practicing yoga, taking dance classes, volunteering, or running at Town Lake with my dog, Sara, and my partner, James.
After spending the last eleven years as a classroom teacher (six of those at ADS), I'm excited to be stepping into a new role as Assistant Principal. I look forward to supporting the amazing teachers, students, and families at ADS.
I expect to learn a lot this year in my new role, and I can't think of a better, more supportive place to learn.
If you see me on campus, please take time to introduce yourself! I look forward to seeing you soon!
