My name is Christie Stinson, and I am married and have two wonderful children and two big and goofy dogs. I enjoy reading, watching movies, hiking, and hanging out with friends and family. I love super heroes, Star Wars, and hair bands.
I attended UT Austin and LeTourneau University and am a trainer of trainers for Drama-based Instruction. My teaching certifications include early childhood through fourth grade generalist and ESL as well as early childhood through twelfth grade special education. I've been a member of the ADS social emotional team through the Positive Behavior Supports and Restorative Practices committees. I've completed a Permaculture Design Certification course as well as a weeklong workshop through Texas Memorial Museum focusing on biodiversity and fieldwork. I sought out training in Flying WILD and Project WILD through the Council of Environmental Education. I've also had the privilege of working with Thinkery through their EdExchange program to incorporate design thinking into the classroom.
This will be my 10th year teaching and my 8th year at ADS. I’ve taught grades ranging from K-2 and have worked as a tutor for upper elementary and middle school students. I really enjoy working with kids and helping them develop a lifelong love of learning and exploration.
