I grew up in Central Massachusetts but have spent my last few decades in the seaport town of Gloucester, MA with my wife and daughter and served as a middle school teacher in drama and social studies. While in Gloucester, I was fortunate to have published several plays – “Middle School Moments” – a play devised with my students and “Beauport Anthology” – a play to engage students in the history of their city - Gloucester. It has always been my passion to bring history and literature to life – especially through the dramatic medium. I hold a doctorate in Educational Theatre from NYU – the result of many years of acting, writing, and teaching.
My wife and I have recently moved to Austin. She to complete a chaplaincy program at Seminary of the Southwest and I to join the Austin Discovery School community! The discovery process is also one of my life-long passions and so I look forward to getting to know my colleagues, students, their parents and the wonder- filled opportunities for teaching and learning here at ADS. In my new assignment as an ELA and Social Studies teacher, I hope to bring history, literature and the many arts of language to life for our students.
